  1. Be a secret
  2. Do not educate clien
  3. Do ineffective reports
  4. Do not know the organization’s risks
  5. Do not build expertise
  6. Find problems, not solutions
  7. Do not teach staff to be good communicators
  8. Do not write an annual report
  9. Make audits long
  10. Never give positive feedback
  11. Do not let auditee see audit program
  12. Never share best practices
  13. Be evaluated on number of findings
  14. Never share software
  15. Consider auditees, external auditors and the audit Committee as necessary nuisances
  16. Finish every audit you begin
  17. Never deviate from the annual plan
  18. Dress-in an outdated fashion
  19. Do not assign senior staff to business units
  20. Do not have a newsletter or website or write for an organization newsletter
  21. Do not go to clien planning meeting
  22. Do not share good news
  23. Never do a special request
  24. Never let senior staff rotate to internal audit assignments
  25. Never do any of the above
